How Arogya helped three Shah's Halal Food franchise locations take control of their workforce

Problem

Three franchise locations, high volume, hourly staff across multiple sites. Operational constraints included:

  • Onboarding — recurring training as roles turned over.
  • Instruction — mixed English fluency and peak-period volume; informal verbal or paper-based direction was easy to miss.
  • Time and attendance — manual clock-ins were hard to reconcile with payroll.
  • Cross-location visibility — limited owner presence at each site day to day.
  • Shift duties — opening, closing, and compliance-related tasks were not centralized in one documented list.

The platforms that came closest either lacked a critical feature or came bundled with tools they had no use for. Additionally, none of them gave these franchise operators the flexibility to build new features over time or a direct support relationship.

Our Solution

Arogya built a custom app around the participating locations' exact needs:

  • Location-based check-in and check-out: staff must be physically on-site to clock in.
  • Configurable role permissions: owners set exactly what each role can and cannot do.
  • Shift scheduling: managers can create and edit schedules across all locations.
  • Labor hour threshold alerts: owners are notified when approaching their cost limit.
  • Timesheet audit screen: owners review hours before sending to the accountant for payroll.
  • Duties tracking: staff confirm daily tasks with photo evidence, creating a timestamped audit trail for health inspection compliance.
